Pretty Little Liars: Spencer Hastings (Daytime)

Hello everyone! Please excuse any autocorrect mistakes I might miss ;) I'm posting from my phone app :)

Today I want to share with you.... The spencer Hastings daytime makeup recreation :)

I love love love her look. Simple. Pretty. Perfect. She's gorgeous! Flawless skin and minimal eye makeup. So easy for someone who's on the go!

On my face I'm wearing Rimmel's WAKE ME UP foundation in (I can't remember but it's the lightest shade!). Estée Lauder's DOUBLE WEAR concealer in Light-Medium.

I used The Body Shop's HONEY BRONZE GEL BRONZER to contour, Covergirl CHEEKERS blush in Golden Rose (loooooove this colour!). I highlighted my cheeks with an Essence highlighter (I believe it's limited edition).

For my eyes, I used my Coastal Scents WARM PALETTE on my lids. I used a skin tone shade and a couple of shades just a tad darker than my skin tone to give my eyes a slight bit of definition. The liner is very simple :) I used Annabelle's KHOL PENCIL in Chocolate. I smudged this between my top lashes to make them appear fuller, and also along my bottom lashes. Lastly for eyes, I used my L'oreal TELESCOPIC SHOCKING EXTENSIONS mascara in Blackest Black.

On my lips I used Revlon's JUST BITTEN BALM + STAIN in the shade Dawn.

I've posted some photos below for a comparison :) hope you enjoy recreating this look on yourself as well!

-Bre :)

I quick photoshopped my eyes in these last two, to give a better comparison! I look a little creepy lol (I have pretty big eyes) lol

Review! Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner

Colour: Blackest Black 950 (Waterproof)

[ Claims ]
Intense Colour
Smudge proof
Waterproof
24 Hour wear

[ First Impressions ]
• Very easy to work with
• Sets quickly- but not too quickly!
• Isn't as wet as the Scandal Eyes, which I like.
• I wasn't too keen on this brush style at first (similar to the Scandal Eyes), but after using it a few times, I don't mind it.
• Very black! Very matte! Perfect for bridal :)
• Very easy to apply- glides on so smooth!

I applied the liner at 12 noon.
I used a thin paintbrush from the craft store to apply the liner
(with a careful hand, you can still achieve a flick with the brush that comes with it!)
I applied a little of Maybelline's colour tattoo in BARELY BRANDED across the lid.

5 pm, 5 hours of wear

This photo, and the one above, were taken at 5 pm.
Liner still looks perfect!
(These photos are from the second time using this liner, I forgot to take photos the first time)
The first time I used this liner, I was wearing primer- and had a fantastic result! Today I skipped that step, and decided to really test this bad boy out!
It'll be interesting to see if there's a difference!

Photo taken at 12 midnight
After 12 hours of wear this liner still looks amazing! It stayed right where I put it!
So far it's just as great without a primer!

Photo taken at 10 a.m.
22 hours!
Even the colour tattoo seems to be holding up quite well! (which is great since they both claim 24 hour wear-ability!)
I took this photo right after I woke up, I'm totally still in bed lol, nice messy eyebrows ;)

Morning-time cuddles with my little man!
Isn't he just the cutest thing? I had to share some of my morning cuteness :)

Photo taken at 7 p.m.
Today got away from me before I got a chance to wash my face! I did go wash my face right after I took this photo (I couldn't stand it any longer!) I had to use remover after, as my face wash only removed the winged parts! I really should have taken another photo!
I can't believe how awesome the liner has held up after 31 hours! Insane!
The colour tattoo has started to crease, but hey it has exceeded it's life expectancy!
I think this combo is going to be one of my new GO-TO looks when I need to be speedy!

More baby cuteness...
 [FINAL THOUGHTS]

I can't say enough good things about this product! The proof is in the (bad quality, sorry guys) photos above! After 31 hours, the liner was still in tact! It hasn't budged from where I put it, and it's still so pigmented! Didn't flake off (which I have encountered with some liquid liners). I would recommend this product in a heartbeat! It's amazing! I had originally wanted to buy this, but walmart was out of stock (which is why I bought the Scandal Eyes). Don't get me wrong, the Scandal Eyes is still a really good product, and is roughly half the price- but I'll be returning it (I don't need two black gel liners). I will definitely be getting a second pot of this for my makeup kit- can't wait to use it for weddings!

REVIEW: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Gel Liner

I purchased both the black, and the aubergine shades. I chose to test out the Aubergine.

I initially applied the liner at 7 p.m. (I did apply a primer, I wanted to test the product out the way I would normally apply it).

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The brush that is included wouldn't be my choice of an applicator, it almost reminds me of a lip brush (from the shape). I'd much rather have a thin brush, or at least an angle brush. That being said, I was able to achieve a nice wearable line - with a sharp wing. I think it's a really neat idea to "hide" the applicator in the lid. The product seemed a little thin when I first started applying it, but this is also my first time using gel liner (I may not have picked up enough product to begin with). I was able to build the opacity though :) **This product does take a minute or so to really set! Be careful not to open your eyes too wide until it's completely dry- it will transfer**. I wouldn't say the colour is anything too unique. I kind of wish it was a more vibrant purple! It's still pretty though. (Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos after applying the liner) .

This photo was taken at 9 p.m.
2 hours after application.
We were just on our way out to see IDENTITY THEIF!

This photo was taken at 2 a.m.
7 hours after application.
I was just heading to bed. Earlier, I forgot I was wearing makeup and accidentally rubbed my eyes.
The liner didn't smudge!

(didn't realize my mouth was open-oops! Please ignore :P)
This photo was taken at 11 a.m. just after I woke up.
18 hours of wear!
I don't usually sleep in my makeup, but I really wanted to test the staying power. It was still looking pretty good! I decided to leave it on, and meet my friend for coffee :)
(Also, the main lid colour is a maybelline colour tattoo, 18 hours and still "there")

25 HOURS!
(my colour tattoo didn't hold up QUITE as well)
Photo taken at 8 p.m.
I asked my husband how my liner looked, and he thought it looked a little faded, but still good! He was surprised when I told him it was still on from the previous night.
Unfortunately, I think some of my shadow transferred onto the liner (making it hard to tell if it's faded, or just covered).

FINAL THOUGHTS: From my experience with this product, I would definitely recommend! It didn't stay 100% PERFECT for 25 hours, but it did stay in place! There was minimal fading, and NO smudging to speak of! Considering I had rubbed my eyes, and slept in it (on top of it being ON my face for 25 hours)- I would have to conclude that this is a great product!

SIDENOTE: I have generally dry skin, and my lids don't get very oily.

Mommy Makeup!

This is just a quick little post for an easy makeup look for moms! (or anyone who doesn't have a load of time in the day).

I forgot to take photos, so hopefully the video does the look justice! (List of products under the video) Enjoy!

EYES:

  • Two-Faced Shadow Insurance
  • Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette
  • Colossal Mascara
  • FLESH TONE Hot Pot from CS (Couldn't remember the name in the video!) I also used this for my cheek highlight along with the inner corner, and under my brow.

LIPS:

  • HEATHER SHIMMER lipstick by RIMMEL

FACE:

  • Clinique SUPERBALANCED MAKEUP foundation, I used to LOVE this product. But since I was pregnant, and even post pregnancy, my skin has gotten a lot more dry. This product doesn't sit on my skin as nice as it used to. Still a great product- just not on my skin anymore.
  • Clinique ADVANCED CONCEALER (this is a really nice product!A TINY amount goes a long way. Always be careful to start with a tiny bit or it looks thick.) It took me a week or so to figure this product out, but I ended up loving it! It covers EVERYTHING.
  • Coastal Scents BLUSH palette
  • ELF MATTE BRONZE bronzer
  • FLESH TONE Hot Pot from CS

A Place to Keep the GOOD

I was on YouTube, and came across a video about a book Q&A A DAY. It's a book that asks a question a day, for 5 years. It's neat because it only gives you about 4 lines to figure out what you want to say! I bought one for myself, and one is a present :)

Then I remembered, I had a little green book sitting in my headboard, still wrapped in cellophane. Until tonight, I had no idea what I was going to do with this pretty little book. All I knew (when I bought it), is that I wanted it to be special. Tonight- I thought of what that special something would be! I decided that it will be a book or things that make me happy, things that I'm thankful for, reasons I feel blessed on a given day.

This book will be a place to keep the good, the happy, the love. There will be no bad days. When I look back through over years to come, I will remember laughter and light.

I encourage you all to start A PLACE TO KEEP THE GOOD.
