REVIEW: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Gel Liner

I purchased both the black, and the aubergine shades. I chose to test out the Aubergine.

I initially applied the liner at 7 p.m. (I did apply a primer, I wanted to test the product out the way I would normally apply it).

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The brush that is included wouldn't be my choice of an applicator, it almost reminds me of a lip brush (from the shape). I'd much rather have a thin brush, or at least an angle brush. That being said, I was able to achieve a nice wearable line - with a sharp wing. I think it's a really neat idea to "hide" the applicator in the lid. The product seemed a little thin when I first started applying it, but this is also my first time using gel liner (I may not have picked up enough product to begin with). I was able to build the opacity though :) **This product does take a minute or so to really set! Be careful not to open your eyes too wide until it's completely dry- it will transfer**. I wouldn't say the colour is anything too unique. I kind of wish it was a more vibrant purple! It's still pretty though. (Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos after applying the liner) .

This photo was taken at 9 p.m.
2 hours after application.
We were just on our way out to see IDENTITY THEIF!

This photo was taken at 2 a.m.
7 hours after application.
I was just heading to bed. Earlier, I forgot I was wearing makeup and accidentally rubbed my eyes.
The liner didn't smudge!

(didn't realize my mouth was open-oops! Please ignore :P)
This photo was taken at 11 a.m. just after I woke up.
18 hours of wear!
I don't usually sleep in my makeup, but I really wanted to test the staying power. It was still looking pretty good! I decided to leave it on, and meet my friend for coffee :)
(Also, the main lid colour is a maybelline colour tattoo, 18 hours and still "there")

25 HOURS!
(my colour tattoo didn't hold up QUITE as well)
Photo taken at 8 p.m.
I asked my husband how my liner looked, and he thought it looked a little faded, but still good! He was surprised when I told him it was still on from the previous night.
Unfortunately, I think some of my shadow transferred onto the liner (making it hard to tell if it's faded, or just covered).

FINAL THOUGHTS: From my experience with this product, I would definitely recommend! It didn't stay 100% PERFECT for 25 hours, but it did stay in place! There was minimal fading, and NO smudging to speak of! Considering I had rubbed my eyes, and slept in it (on top of it being ON my face for 25 hours)- I would have to conclude that this is a great product!

SIDENOTE: I have generally dry skin, and my lids don't get very oily.
